How does online scheduling work?

After enabling online scheduling, your patient will be able to schedule with you online

What happens after a patient schedules online?

  • If an existing patient schedules online, their appointment will automatically be booked on your schedule with the details they selected while scheduling (provider, treatment type, and time).
  • If a new patient schedules online, you will be able accept or deny the pending patient.

How do I accept or deny pending patients?

🔐 Only Admin, Front Office, and Clinical Assistant users have permission to accept or deny pending patients.

A pending patient is a patient who has booked an appointment through your online scheduling site and is not recognized as an existing patient in your ChiroUp account.

Accepting pending patients serves two key purposes: it confirms that new patients don’t already exist within your ChiroUp account and helps prevent spam requests.

Click either option to find out how to manage pending patient appointments:

Manage and view all currently pending patients

1) Navigate to the Admin tab located in the left-side panel and select Pending Patients.

2) Approve or deny any of the pending patients.

  • Approving a pending patient will officially create a record for the patient and officially accept that appointment on the Schedule.
  • Denying a pending patient will cancel the appointment, and no patient record will be created.

Accept pending patients from the schedule

1) Navigate to the Schedule. Any appointment with a pending patient will be marked with an alert icon.

2) Select the pending patient’s appointment. The appointment details will also feature the alert icon.

3) Approve the pending patient’s appointment by clicking the ellipsis button in the top right corner and selecting “Approve patient.” This action will create a patient record and accept the appointment.

To deny a patient, you must go to Pending patients under the Admin tab.
