Course 3: Claims

Course Three of Billing Bootcamp covers everything you need to know about generating claims in ChiroUp, including:

(3A) What do claim statuses mean?

Most claims start in Pending, then move to Unsubmitted and then Submitted. After submission, claim statuses update based on how the payor processes them — such as Rejected or Paid.

Open any claim to review its details like the before submitting.

(3C) Claim Info

If a claim needs to be sent with certain dates or information (like Initial Treatment Date, or a Referring Provider), then the Provider can enter this information into Claim Info within the Pointing module of the encounter.

(3D) Submitting an individual claim

You can submit claims in ChiroUp individually or in batches. To start, we will first review submitting an individual claim.

(3F) Add internal notes to claims

You can add an internal note to a claim at any time. You can also flag claims with notes, making it easy to return to them later to continue working or make edits.

(3G) Switching claim status

You can switch a claim’s status individually or in a batch. Common uses include moving claims to Hold if you’re not ready to send them (like PI cases) or marking them as Rejected when they need to be corrected and resubmitted.

(3H) Regenerating a claim

When you need to resubmit a claim, you'll want to move the claim into the Rejected status, address what needs to be fixed, and then re-submit the claim.
