ChiroUp is a cloud-based clinical platform. Its speed and responsiveness depend heavily on the computer, network, and browser you’re using. Even the fastest software will feel slow on underpowered hardware or unstable internet connections.
Below are the system hardware requirements that ensure ChiroUp performs optimally.
Minimum Desktop/ Laptop Requirements (Will Work, Not Ideal)
These are the lowest specifications that will allow ChiroUp to run, but performance may feel sluggish during busy clinic hours or when using advanced features like voice-to-chart and large schedules.
- Desktop or laptop less than ~5 years old
- 8 GB RAM
- Browser: Chrome (desktop) or Safari (iPad)
- Stable internet connection (25 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload)
Recommended Desktop/ Laptop Requirements (Best Experience)
These specifications deliver the smooth, fast experience ChiroUp is designed for—especially in multi-provider clinics and high-volume front desks.
- Modern business-class desktop or laptop
- 16 GB RAM
- Browser: Chrome (desktop) or Safari (iPad)
- Wired Ethernet connection
- Internet speed of 50+ Mbps download / 10+ Mbps upload
- Modern router or mesh Wi-Fi system
iPads can be used effectively for provider-facing workflows when properly configured.
Minimum iPad Requirements:
- iPad released within the last ~3–4 years
- iPadOS kept up to date (latest iOS version required)
- Safari browser
- Stable Wi-Fi connection
Recommended iPad Requirements:
- Newer-generation iPad with strong performance
- Dedicated staff Wi-Fi (not guest or shared patient networks)
- Close proximity to the router or access point
- Avoid multitasking with many background apps open
Notes
- Chrome and other browsers are not recommended for use on iPad due to platform limitations.
- Voice-to-Chart performance is best on newer iPads with strong internet upload speeds.
Chromebooks and Other Tablets
Chromebooks and non-iPad tablets are not recommended for daily clinical or front desk use.
- Performance and browser limitations can lead to lag or inconsistent behavior
- Many models are underpowered for sustained, multi-user clinic workflows
- Support for advanced features may be limited
For clinics considering Chromebooks or alternative tablets, we recommend testing performance carefully or using a traditional desktop or laptop instead.
Why This Matters
- ChiroUp handles real-time scheduling, charting, outcomes tracking, billing, and cloud-based AI tools. These require reliable computing power and network stability. Most “slowness” issues are caused by:
- Insufficient RAM
- Outdated computers
- Weak Wi-Fi or overloaded networks
- Incompatible browsers
Meeting the recommended specs ensures you get the speed, reliability, and clinical flow ChiroUp was built to deliver.
