Switching an encounter's track

If you need to update a track on an appointment that has not yet been checked in, you can do so by editing the appointment Track field. 

This article will talk you through how to update the track on an encounter that has already been created (checked-in). 


Here's how to update the track of an encounter: 

On the encounter, open the Track drop-down to select a new track. 

 

When you switch the track on an encounter, your SOAP Note is regenerated to pull in the details for the newly selected track on that date of service. Because the encounter is rebuilt, any information you’ve already entered will not be saved. It’s essentially like starting the visit over from check-in with the new track applied.

If the newly selected track shares complaints with the previous one, any completed subjective survey responses for those shared complaints will remain. If the track includes different complaints that weren’t part of the prior track, the patient survey will need to be completed again.
