Here is an overview of the columns you'll see returned on the Service Code Usage Report:

  • Units Billed:  the total number of units billed across all purchases in the specified date range
  • # Of Visits Used: the total number of purchases this code was applied to in the specified date range
  • Total Billed: the total amount billed for the service code across all purchases in the specified date range
  • Insurance Paid: the total amount paid for the service code by insurance across all purchases in the specified date range
    • Insurance Paid includes payments made by the insurance company. It does not include patient payments applied to the code, such as amounts that go toward the patient’s deductible.

💡Pro Tip:

The Service Code Usage report analyzes codes billed on purchases within the date range you select. This means the report is based on when services were rendered, not when a claim was submitted to insurance, when an ERA was received, or when a payment was posted.

Because insurance payments can be received at any time, the statistics in this report are dynamic and may continue to change over time as payments are received, even for a previously selected date range.
