Replacing 97014 with G0283

Certain payors may require service code G0283 instead of 97014. Fortunately, ChiroUp automates this process!

You can configure your database so that when 97014 is added to a purchase with an insurance policy requiring G0283, ChiroUp automatically replaces 97014 with G0283. This article explains how to set it up.

Here's how to set up replacement codes:

1. If you haven't already, you will need to add G0283 as a custom billing code.

ChiroUp is synced with the library of CPT codes, but G0283 is a HCPCS code which is why you will need to add it as a custom billing code.

2. If you haven't already, add 97014 to your Billing codes database. (If the code is already in your database, click on it to open. Then, click the lock icon to enable editing.)

  • To add 97014, click the Add button:

  • To open 97014 for editing, click on the line item then the lock icon at the bottom of the panel:

3. Under Payors, enter or select the payor that requires G0283 instead of 97014.

In the Replacement Code field, enter code G0283.

4. Click Save!

Now, when you add the code 97014 to a purchase with the payor policy that requires G0283, ChiroUp will alert you and easily allow you to replace the code - see image below.

Click the arrow icons to replace 97014 with G0283.
