You can assign a case subtype for Active Treatment and Maintenance patients. This is helpful for user reference and will trigger the AT modifier to automatically applied to adjustment codes for Medicare patients.
Here's how to assign a case subtype:
a) Within the Plan Wizard, you can indicate the case subtype:
b) Within the Purchase, you can indicate the case sutype:
The Case Subtype fields reflect each other in the encounter and the purchase - so if you update the Case Subtype in one location, it will also update in the other.
Active Treatment & the AT modifier for Medicare patients:
When the patient's Case Subtype is Active Treatment and they have a Medicare policy added to the purchase, ChiroUp will automatically add the AT modifier to adjustment codes on the purchase (98940, 98941, and 98942)
