Saving a card on file

If you are using integrated payment processing through NCMIC, you can save a patient's credit card on file to easily charge it for future visits.

Here's how to save a card on file:

1) When taking a patient's payment, select Credit Card as the Payment Type.

2) Under Select Device, choose Manual Entry.

3) Enter cardholder and card details and check the Save payment method? box.

4) Click Create. This will charge the card and save the payment method on file.

Here's how to charge a card that is already saved on file:

1) When taking payment, select Credit Card as the Payment type and then Manual Entry.

2) If a card has been previously saved on file, then it will be available to charge. Select Use this Card.

3) Click Create to charge the card.

💡Pro tip:

  • In order to save a patient's card on file, you must also charge the card via manual entry. Cards cannot be saved ahead of time or entered by the patient online.
  • Cards can only be saved on file when using Manual Entry - a card cannot be saved when it is physically swiped/inserted/tapped on the terminal.
