Use Case Types in ChiroUp to label patient records and purchases, making it easy to identify key information about a patient's case and filter reports to quickly find patients or purchases associated with a specific Case Type.
ChiroUp includes default Case Types such as Cash, Auto-Accident, Health Insurance, and Medicare, with more available to help organize your records.
Here's how to assign a case type to a record:
1. Navigate to the patient record. Under the General tab, click Edit.

2. Under the Case Type drop-down, select your case type.

The case type will now be visible next to the patient's name in their record.

Once you add a Case Type to a patient's record, all future purchases will default to that Case Type. You can change the Case Type for individual purchases as needed.
Assigning Case Types to purchases is useful for advanced filtering in billing reports. For example, the Compensation Calculator Report and A/R Aging Report can be filtered by Case Type using the Case Type assigned to each purchase.
Note: Adding or changing a Case Type on a patient's record does not update the Case Type on existing purchases.

💡Pro tips:
- We've added some default case types, however, you are able to add, edit, and delete custom case types in your clinic settings.

- When a purchase Case Type = Cash, ChiroUp will suppress insurance population on that purchase.
