Navigating ERAs & EDI Activity

The following guidelines will help you navigate between the ERA and EDI Activity tabs within the Billing Module to effectively troubleshoot issues with claims or remits.

Viewing Uploaded ERAs

Click on the ERAs tab within the Billing Module. This will display all ERAs uploaded to ChiroUp. Click any ERA line item to view its details and post payer payments for the individual claims it contains.

Please note: the ERA status column does not update at this time. Our team is working on enhancing the ERA statuses and status filters for a better user experience. Stay tuned!

Viewing Individual Claims on ERAs

Clicking an ERA line item opens it, allowing you to view individual claims within that response. However, toggling on Show Individual Claims displays all individual claims returned on ERAs, rather than just those on a specific ERA.

  • Filter by Applied and Unapplied to view ERAs with payor payments awaiting posting.
  • Filter by Posted to view all ERAs that have been posted and completed.

You can then click any line item to view the claim information.

Viewing EDI Activity

The EDI Activity tab can be viewed from the Billing Module. The EDI Activity Log tracks all claim files generated within ChiroUp, as well as all ERAs that are either manually uploaded or received through TriZetto integration. This feature is especially beneficial for users with the TriZetto integration enabled, as it allows them to monitor the delivery and receipt of files efficiently.

Key Filters:

The top filters you will use when selecting claims are Claims and Remits.

Key Statuses:

Pending:

  • Claims files will always have a “Pending” status if your clinic does not use the TriZetto integration.
  • Claims sent via integration will remain “Pending” until confirmed as received by TriZetto.
  • Paper claims are always marked as “Pending.”
  • ERAs will show as “Pending” if they haven’t yet been parsed by the system. Users can attempt to reprocess these ERAs using the “Retry” option.

Processed:

  • Claims files that have been successfully sent to TriZetto are marked as “Processed.”
  • ERAs that ChiroUp has parsed correctly will also have the “Processed” status.
  • Claim Acknowledgements and Implementation Acknowledgements in the “Processed” status is a confirmation message sent back by TriZetto indicating the successful delivery and processing of a file.

Error / Checksum Failure:

  • This status indicates an issue with file parsing.
  • If a claim acknowledgment file shows an “Error,” it means TriZetto has identified an issue with the submitted claim.
